Product Development Scientist

Role Summary:
We are seeking a Product Development Scientist to join our team on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Head of R&D, you will play a key role in ensuring we stay ahead with our animal health offerings. Your responsibility will be to support the growth and evolution of our core products, ensuring we remain market leaders. Product development is crucial to our growth, and your passion and resilience in the process will be key to our success.
What you'll be doing:
- Project Management: Manage projects from concept to launch, covering the entire product life cycle.
- Cross-Department Liaison: Work with Quality, Regulatory, Operations, Marketing, Design, and Sales to ensure successful and timely project completion.
- Market Awareness: Stay up to date with competitor products and new product launches. Attend trade shows and provide feedback to drive innovation.
- Idea Generation: Contribute new product ideas across veterinary and agricultural divisions.
- Technology Integration: Build knowledge of new technologies and industry standards.
- Relationship Building: Develop relationships with suppliers and Key Opinion Leaders.
- Clinical Trials: Help to scope and support trials with customers and academic establishments.
- Research and Innovation: Research benefits and applications of ingredients and new packaging ideas.
- Trial Oversight: Participate in laboratory and production-sized trials, reporting progress and issues to the Head of R&D.
- Troubleshooting: Manage and resolve issues with existing products.
- Documentation: Create and manage technical documentation and maintain supply chains.
- Technical Support: Assist veterinary technical advisors and the manufacturing team.
- Compliance: Adhere to Good Laboratory Practice, GMP guidelines, and health and safety standards.
About you:
We are looking for someone who is:
- A BSc (2.1 or above) in Biological Science, Veterinary, Nutrition, Pharmacology, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 1 year industrial experience in a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for continuous learning and professional development.
- A flexible working attitude.
- The ability to work both autonomously and as part of a broader team.
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
